Total export turnover of agro, forestry and fisheries products was estimated at US$ 12.4 billion for the first 4 months; trade surplus was US$ 2.68 billion
According to the statistics, in April 2019, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products was estimated at US$ 3.5 billion USD. The accumulated first 4 months was US$ 12.4 billion, equivalent to the same period in 2018.
Among those, the main agricultural product group was estimated at US$ 5.2 billion, down 5.6%. Some products with increased export value were including: rubber reached US$ 559 million (up 14.1%); tea reached US$ 62 million (up 14%); vegetables and fruits were US$ 1.4 billion (up 7.2%) ...
However, rice, coffee, cassava and cassava products decreased both in volume and export value. Specifically, rice export volume decreased by 8%, the value reached US$ 915 million (down 19%); coffee volume decreased by 13%, value reached US$ 1.13 billion (down 19%); cassava and cassava products decreased by 14%, worth US$ 356 million (down 3.3%).
For 4 months, seafood export was about US$ 2.48 billion, up by 2.4%; main forest products were estimated at US$ 3.2 billion, up 17.8%; livestock products were estimated at US$ 170 million, down 6.5%.
In opposite, the total import value of agricultural, forestry, fishery and inputs for production in the first four months was about US$ 9.7 billion, up 3.2% over the same period last year. Thus, the trade surplus was estimated at US$ 2.68 billion, down 8.7% compared to the same period in 2018.
