The event is a key annual gathering that rotates among Mekong Delta provinces. It is designed to help promote, introduce, and connect products from An Giang with businesses and other localities across the country. The forum is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, to boost trade, promote OCOP products, and develop a sustainable rural economy.
The 2025 Mekong Delta OCOP Forum, themed “Linking for development - An Giang 2025”, will be held from September 25-28 at Nguyen Hue Walking Street in Long Xuyen city, An Giang province. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on An Giang Newspaper, An Giang Radio, and An Giang Radio and Television at 7:00 PM on September 25. The main exhibition area, also located in Long Xuyen, will feature a wide range of OCOP products.
A key activity will be the Mekong Delta OCOP Product Trade Connection Conference, scheduled for September 26 at Hoa Binh 1 Hotel in Long Xuyen. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam and the An Giang Provincial People's Committee will host this conference.
It will serve as a platform for government agencies, businesses, distributors, and OCOP producers to connect and boost domestic consumption and exports. Additionally, an OCOP Product Development Workshop and live online sales streams will be held to support producers seeking to promote their products on digital platforms.
The Mekong Delta Outstanding OCOP Product Competition, organized by the Central New Rural Development Coordination Office, will take place from September 26 to 27. This competition will honor unique OCOP products, encourage innovation to enhance product quality, and promote local brands both domestically and internationally.
The OCOP product display and sales area will be open throughout the event, featuring 226 booths. The exhibition will showcase outstanding OCOP products and specialties from An Giang, other Mekong Delta provinces, and various localities nationwide. A dedicated space with 45 booths, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, will feature outstanding national OCOP products, including those awarded 3 to 5 stars, as well as products participating in the 2025 Mekong Delta Outstanding OCOP Product Competition.
An Giang will have 36 booths dedicated to its OCOP products, specialties, rural industrial products, agricultural goods, and startup initiatives. The space will also highlight the province’s socio-economic achievements and the life of President Ton Duc Thang and feature a photo exhibition of An Giang’s signature OCOP products.
A separate exhibition area will showcase the province's tourism, culture, and cuisine, with 20 booths featuring An Giang's distinctive dishes and OCOP products. Visitors can explore local folk cakes and signature dishes like bun ken, Chau Doc fish noodle soup, and Kien Giang fish noodle soup, promoting An Giang’s culinary identity alongside its cultural and tourism exhibits.
The forum is more than just a trade promotion event; it represents a commitment to regional collaboration, sustainable and innovative rural economic development, and international integration. It also serves as an opportunity to promote An Giang's culture, tourism, and specialty products while celebrating the restructuring of administrative units and establishing a two-tiered local government model nationwide
