Promote public-private partnerships in the coffee sector
October 29, 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City, the PPP Task Force on Coffee - the Production Sub-Committee under the Vietnam Coffee Coordination Board (VCCB) organized the committee annual meeting. The meeting was attended by 20 key members of the Sub-committee from both the public and private sectors.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. Le Van Duc, Deputy Director General of Department of Crop Production and Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Head of Corporate Affairs at Nestlé Vietnam, the members discussed many topics setting the operation direction of the Task Force in the following year, which include (i) Review and update Task Force’s activities and share difficulties in implementation; (ii) Strengthen links among members of the Production Sub-committee; (iii) Share models, initiatives and ideas of members; and (iv) Agree on the Production Sub-committee's work plan and propose a plan for the Task Force in the 2020-2025 period.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Van Duc shared that in 2019, the PPP Task Force on Coffee has undertaken a number of activities, contributing positively to the overall development of the industry. Nevertheless, there are numerous difficulties ahead related to linkage and coordination among Task Force members. Therefore, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development representative hopes that the meeting will create conditions for industry partners to exchange and discuss on solutions to improve and strengthen the links between members as well as between the public and private sectors.
