Minister of MARD H.E Nguyen Xuan Cuong attends the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos 2017
The 47th Annual Meeting of World Economic Forum was held from 17 to 20 Jannuary 2017 in Davos, Klosters, Swirzeland. “Responsive and Responsible Leadership” in the theme driving the design of the programme, initiatives and projects of the WEF Annual Meeting 2017.
MARD delegations were led by Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong attended a number of important discussion at the WEF Meeting. In the session of “New Vision for Agriculture: Building and Strengthen Multistakeholder Partnerships”. The Minister made an important speech to share Vietnam’s experience in building and institution of 08 PPP Agricultural Working groups; they are experience in development, commitment, implementation and institutionalisation of PPP working groups for sustainable agriculture in Vietnam. This speech has been received the appreciation of over 100 delegations. The Minister also proposed a number of new initiatives to improve the PPP models to attract more resources and investment in agricultural value chain, sustainable mechanism for coordiantion between countries and businesses in adapting to climate change.
Besides, the Miniter had a meeting with leaders of international cooperations which leading in field of agriculture and rural development such as CEO Flavio Casanova of Swiss Gruner Group and Mr. Martyn Parker, Chairman Global Partnership of Swiss Re of Switzerland. At these meeting, stakeholders had important discussion issues to to develop sustainable rural agriculture and commitment to cooperate in the future
