Developing food safety value chain

Authorized by Prime Minister of Vietnam, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development assumes the chairmanship of the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF) for the term 2018 – 2019. During the term of AMAF Chairmanship, the Ministry collaborated with the ASEAN Secretariat to implement various ASEAN cooperative activities in Vietnam. Within that framework, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat to hold a training course for ASEAN member countries on “Enhancing food safety in the value chain”.

There were 19 trainees from state management agencies, research institutes, universities and enterprises of 10 ASEAN countries. Trainees shared and discussed the theory and practice of developing agricultural value chain to ensure food security and high quality, increase added value and develop sustainable agriculture.

Besides, trainees also visited the field of agricultural value chain models of Que Lam company and Ha Long Canned Food company, which helped them learn more practical application of technologies and techniques in ensuring food safety in the agricultural value chain.

At the end of training, representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development awarded certificates to the entire trainees.
