Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc (on the right) and MPI Minister Nguyễn Chí Dũng (on the left) the make announcement of the Viet Nam Development Policy Framework.

The goal of developing Viet Nam Economic Development Policy Framework is to introduce to the business community, organizations, agencies and the public in a brief, practical and important way about the current economic situation in Viet Nam and the country’s economic development policy in the coming years, giving clear messages about the business investment environment in Viet Nam for attracting domestic and foreign investment and mobilizing resources for development.

According to MPI Deputy Minister Le Quang Manh, this is an initiative of MPI Minister to build a brief reference to the Viet Nam economic development policy framework, based on the Party Documents (Resolution of the 12th Party Congress and Central Resolutions: the 4th Central Resolution on Economic Restructuring; the 5th Central Resolution on Private Economic Development, perfecting institution of the socialist-oriented market economy, SOE reforms, the 6th Central Resolution on reform and restructure of the political mechanism...); Resolutions and Decisions of the National Assembly and the Government such as Resolution 01 (2018) on socio-economic development plans for 2018, Resolution 19 (2015-2016-2017) on creating a favorable business environment, Resolution 35 (2016) on business support, Resolution 64 (2016) on the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress, National Assembly Resolution 24 (2016) on economic restructure, Decision 339 (2016) on economic restructure program ...; and Viet Nam's long-term development orientations through research reports, especially the Viet Nam Report 2035.

In the process of developing this publication, the Ministry of Planning and Investment received valuable comments from ministries, relevant agencies, national and international scientists, especially the Advisory Group on economic issues of the Prime Minister, as well as the support of the World Bank in Viet Nam and the Australian Embassy.

“As the issue of economic development policy is a very broad topic, the Ministry of Planning and Investment only mentioned some key features, which have important implications for the overall policy framework, with a long-term vision on fast and sustainable development. In the medium-term, taking the opportunities from the industrial revolution 4.0, we will focus efforts on creating new growth drivers” said Deputy Minister Le Quang Manh.
