On 20.4.2018, International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Office of International Support Program (ISG) in collaboration with partners: Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam (PSAV), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and PepsiCo Vietnam held a policy dialogue forum on "Improving labor productivity-the role of the private sector".
The forum attracted around 100 participants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, institutes/schools, Provincial DARDs and especially representatives from private sector such as companies from Japan, Korea, Netherlands ... and Vietnamese enterprises. Presentations at the forum highlighted Vietnam's current low labor productivity and specified the bottlenecks needed to be tackled in order to improve productivity. The high productivity models presented by PepsiCo Vietnam, the Japanese-Dalat Food Company have demonstrated the potential for high agricultural productivity in Vietnam by applying advanced technological processes, good farm management practices and improved farming intensities to get high yields.
