WEF ASEAN 2018: Vietnam’s important diplomatic event this year

World Economic Forum (WEF) ASEAN 2018 with the theme on “The Business Spirit and the Forth Industrial Revolution,” held from September 11^th – 13^th, 2018 at the National Convention Center, is one of the most important diplomatic events of our country in 2018.

Prime Minister signed Decision no. 395/QĐ-TTg on setting up an Organizing Board for WEF ASEAN 2018. Standing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bui Thanh Son, is the Head of the Board.

WEF ASEAN, having known as WEF East Asia previously, is one of the major and prestigious forums in the region, attracting the participation of leaders of many countries inside and outside the region, many major international organizations, and many leaders of most leading corporations in the world. WEF ASEAN 2018 with the theme “The Business Spirit and the Forth Industrial Revolution,” held from September 11^th – 13^th, 2018 at the National Convention Center, is one of the most important diplomatic events of our country in 2018. The success organization of this forum will benefit with many aspects of politics, foreign affairs and economy, as well as promote the image of the country.

According to Decision no. 395/QĐ-TTg, members of the Organizing Board for WEF ASEAN 2018 are representatives of related ministries, departments and localities. The Organizing Board consists of sub-boards on Content, Reception, Propaganda – Culture, Security – Health, Material – Logistics and the Secretariat. The Organizing Board is responsible for advising and helping the Government and Prime Minister to direct the preparation and organization of the WEF ASEAN 2018; assigning, urging and coordinating activities among relevant ministries, departments, localities and enterprises in the course of the forum preparation and organization.
